Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Powering up HP Envy 4520;   First comes up the MFG MODE ;  then pressing pwr button gets code OXB8537E70.  NOBODY seems to be able to tell WHAT that code MEANS;...Screen is otherwised locked and I can do nothing with it.

I must have UNplugged and restarted this thing 6 or 7 times, each time;  same result.

Operating on Windows 7.......worked fine for couple years....not now!

Also had codedOXC4E4B841E,  and code OXC4EB827F  but the OXB8537etc shows up most of the time.

I'm stuck!

Hi @Lslem,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB8537E70 you're encountering on your HP Envy 4520 printer seems to be related to a hardware or firmware issue. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this.

Power Cycle the Printer: Since you've already tried unplugging and restarting the printer multiple times without success, try the following:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes to let all residual power drain from the printer.
  • Plug the printer back in and try to power it on again.

Update Firmware: Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve such issues. Here’s how you can check for firmware updates:

  • Go to the HP Support website and enter your printer model (HP Envy 4520).
  • Locate the firmware section and see if there's a newer version available.
  • Download and install any available firmware updates according to the instructions provided.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a semi-full reset on the printer. This can often clear up persistent issues.
  • Instructions for resetting can usually be found in the printer's user manual or on the HP support site specific to your model.

Check for Hardware Issues: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, there may be a hardware problem with the printer.

Check Error Codes: If you encounter other error codes like OXC4E4B841E or OXC4EB827F, note them down as well. Sometimes specific error codes can provide clues about the nature of the problem, which can help in troubleshooting.

Software Compatibility: Ensure that your printer is compatible with Windows 7 and that all necessary drivers and software are up to date. Incompatibility or outdated software can sometimes cause issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
