Hi @Olivieri
Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tip
I understand that the Avery labels are off alignment when printing from your HP ENVY 4500
I'd like to help.
I suggest you remove all the Labels and do a Printer Reset.
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Then put back the papers and adjust the labels with the Paper Guides to ensure they are held in place properly.
You can also try the following steps.
- Please open devices and printers by searching it on the control panel.
- Right-click on the printer.
- Select printer preferences.
- Select Paper/Quality.
- Click on Media and change it to labels.
If the issue persists, try updating the Firmware from Here
Let me know how it goes.
Thank you. 🙂

How is it printing on regular paper?
What is the paper size?
Please perform these steps from the link: Click Here
Step 5: Check the print settings
Step 11: Align the printer
Refer to Specification and check if the paper is supported by your printer.
Let me know how that pans out

Hi @Olivieri,
It looks like you were interacting with @KrazyToad, & @Flower_Bud, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.
As I understand you are having issues printing Avery labels, going through your post, I see that you are using 17.8 x 10.0 mm x 270, I did go through the Paper handling specifications and found that this is not listed in the supported paper.
This could be one of the reason why you are not able to print properly. However, you can try to create a custom size paper and then try to print from.
To know more about custom size, please follow this link: Click here
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,

I am having the exact same problem.
Restarted the printer, Aligned the printer, cross checked paper sizes - nothing seems to work.
Not only are my labels misaligned, but they are also printed with the wrong quality print AND the printer stops half way through the paper (or one third of the way) and stops pringiting all together, feeding me a partially filled sheet.
I have been trying to just print a draft label page on regular paper, but the printer still prints in high quality even though I selected Draft print in the settings.
Very frustrating experience and completely unreliable.
Any other suggestions not mentioned already would be helpful.
