@ERPJR, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're encountering a "Printer Failure" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e. Let's work together to get this resolved. Please follow the steps below:
Power Reset the Printer
Sometimes a simple reset can clear internal errors:
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Ink System Errors
If the error persists, it may be related to the ink system:
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove and reinsert all cartridges to ensure they are seated properly.
- Close the door and check if the error clears.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause system errors:
- Visit the HP Support page.
- Download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.
Use HP Smart Diagnose & Fix (Windows/macOS)
HP Smart includes a tool to automatically detect and fix issues:
- Download or open the HP Smart app.
- Go to "Printer Settings" > "Advanced Settings" > "Diagnose & Fix".
Factory Reset (if needed)
If none of the above steps work, a factory reset may help:
- On the printer control panel, tap the gear icon (Settings).
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Confirm the reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
