I have a HP Inkjet Pro All in One 8620 and the print head is stuck in the position all the way to the right and will not move across the carriage when I open the access door so I can access the ink cartridges.

Hi @DanGalt
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If the print head on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 is stuck to the right and won’t move when you open the access door, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the print head.
Check for Obstructions:
- Carefully inspect the printer for any obstructions or debris around the print head or carriage that might be preventing movement.
Manually Move the Print Head:
- If you feel comfortable, gently try to move the print head to the left. It should move freely, but do not force it if it feels stuck.
- Check for any cables or parts that might be tangled or obstructing its movement.
Inspect the Carriage Path:
- Look inside the printer for any foreign objects or paper that may have jammed in the carriage path.
Remove and Reinsert the Ink Cartridges:
- If possible, remove the ink cartridges while the access door is open, then try moving the print head again.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
