Since I cancelled HP instant ink subs and bought HP ink (genuine) my printer failed to print magenta, done the cartridge clean 3 times, and it made no difference.

If your HP 4527 printer is not printing magenta even after cleaning the cartridge multiple times, there might be several potential issues to consider. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

 

1. Check the Ink Cartridge

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure the magenta ink cartridge is properly installed.
  • Check for Protective Tape: Verify that any protective tape covering the ink nozzle has been removed.
  • Inspect for Damage: Examine the cartridge for any visible damage or leaks.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

3. Run Additional Printhead Cleaning

  • Sometimes, multiple cleaning cycles are necessary. You might need to run the cleaning process up to 3 more times. However, be mindful of your ink levels as this process uses ink.

4. Align the Printhead

  • Aligning the printhead can help improve print quality and resolve color issues.
    • Open the HP printer software on your computer.
    • Look for an option related to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    • Select Align Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions.

5. Print a Diagnostic Report

  • Printing a diagnostic report can help determine if there is an issue with the printhead or cartridge.
    • From the printer control panel, access the Settings or Tools menu.
    • Find and select Print Quality Report or Print Diagnostic Report.
    • Check the report for any missing colors or errors.

. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve printing issues.
    • Visit the HP support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model.
    • Follow the instructions to update the firmware if necessary.

7. Manual Cleaning of Printhead

  • If the automated cleaning doesn’t work, you might need to clean the printhead manually.
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Open the printer to access the printhead.
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the printhead and ink nozzles.
    • Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges and turning the printer back on.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP 4527 printer not printing magenta.
