Hi Everyone, Still can't get my iphone and HP to work together. I just went to my records and realized that I have bought 27 HP printers in the last few years. Unbelieveable that this problem has not been solved. PLEASE make this a priorty. I'm a real die-hard HP fan. Best, Belgitude

In the setting for the printer shut down the alternative ipv6 and keep only ipv4.
The reason is that most users really don’t need more than ipv4.
I guess a closer cooperation between Apple and HP can solve a workng upgrade later on!

Find the IP address of the printer. If you have a display on your printer, select the wireless connection and the IP address should be displayed. You may also be able to print out a configuration report that should have the IP address.
On any browser (such as Explorer) type that IP address into the address bar. That should take you to the printer settings. (if you use safari on an iOS device it will warn you about certificates, just click through accepting them)
Once at the settings, select the Network tab, then general option, then network protocols. That should give you the option to that Select IP4 only.
Save and exit
Also shut down ur printer and restart.
U should be able to print.

Thank you Owenmj78

“ i found this solution on the Apple forums and it resolved the issue for me (iPhone 6S iOS11)

Tried this solution and worked perfectly on my Ipad and HP Officejet 4620. Currently running iOS 11.2.1. Thaks for the information appriciate your post.
It was getting a tad anoying and like many others the reason from purchasing my HP printer was because of the airprint option.
HP you really should have responded to this issue sooner if you want to maintain your status as a leader in print technology and support, better response next time hey ?

Hi Owenmj78,
i tried this solution, by changing the network protocol to select IP4 only. Worked on the day, stopped working next day, so I checked the Network Protocol was still set to IP4, which it was.
i have reconfigured the WiFi network still no joy. Still only able to print small images from my iPad and iPhone 6.
I also contacted Apple Support on the same issue, who said they were aware and were investigating!

Good morning cbrow51,
You are most welcome. The credit, however, must go to Owenmj who found the solution on the Apple Support forum.
In my case the issue has not been resolved, although everything worked perfectly on the day. When I printed something the following day the problem had come back. I checked the printer was still set to IPv4, but the issue still persists.
I have updated the software on both the iPad and iPhone since the printer setting changes mentioned in my previous post. Not sure if the update caused the problem to reoccur.
It would appear that the problem started with the update to iOS 11, as I have an iPad running iOS 10, from which I can AirPrint A4 documents without any issues.
I have contacted AppleCare Support, and the Senior Advisor with whom I had an online chat, has passed the problem to the Apple Engineering Team to investigate.
The Senior Advisor logged on to my iPad remotely to check the settings. Additionally I was asked to print and upload an image of the printout during the Chat Session.
The conclusion of the remote login was that there is a mismatch between the paper size settings in the file that the Apple devices are sending and what is actually printed. Hp Printers seem to interpret the A4 file as an A6 file, hence the small size printout.
The Senior Advisor will keep me posted on progress.
I Hope you had better luck and your printing problem is now fully resolved.
