HP ENVY Photo 7855 on iMac using Sequoia 15.1.1. For years I have been able to download Calif government tax forms and fill in data and then print it successfully. Now when I print it I only get the boilerplate government form. All of the data I add (name, address, etc) is missing from the printed document. I see it all on my screen, but it does't appear on the printed page. I access the document using BOTH Adobe Acrobat Reader and Preview and get the same result. I have deleted the printer and re-added it with no change. I even went back to previous years document that I know printed successfully and get the same result. The skeleton form prints fine, but none of the data I added prints. I would really appreciate some help before I lose my mind. I am not sure if the problem is with the HP printer or with the Mac software. I dont think the problem is from Adobe Reader because the problem still exists when I use Preview instead of Adobe Reader.

Hi @JackDinLQ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I’m really sorry you're experiencing this frustrating issue with printing your forms, especially after having had no trouble before. It must be so aggravating to see the form print but none of your added data. Let’s see if we can work through this together.
- Have you tried printing the document from a different application or device to see if the issue is isolated to the iMac?
- Are you able to print any other documents from the iMac with filled-in data successfully, or is this issue specific to the tax forms?
- Does the issue happen when printing from other apps on your iMac, or only with Adobe Acrobat and Preview?
Let's try these steps.
Check Printer Settings
- Ensure that the HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer is set to print in "Best" quality mode, as this can sometimes affect the output of filled data, especially with graphic-heavy documents like forms.
Update Printer Drivers
- Visit the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for any available updates for the printer's driver. Sometimes, software updates can fix issues with certain document types or printing functions.
Print as PDF First
- Try printing the form to a PDF instead of directly to the printer. If the data appears correctly in the PDF, this could point to a communication issue between the iMac and the printer. If the PDF looks correct, then try printing it from the PDF viewer instead of directly from the form.
Use a Different User Account on Mac
- Create a new user account on your iMac and test printing from that account. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your user profile or system-wide.
Reinstall the Printer’s Driver Software
- Fully remove the printer from your Mac, reinstall the latest driver software from HP’s website, and reconnect the printer. This could resolve any issues with the communication between the printer and your system.
- Install HP Easy Start Click here
If the issue persists, it might be worth contacting Apple support to see if there’s a specific compatibility issue with macOS 15.1.1 or the printer driver.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
