When I attempt to print, asks for a FAX number

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? 

 

The issue you describe would typically happen with an all-in-one printer device that has printing and FAX capability.  This would typically be described in the list of printing devices as two separate printer types, one for the printer and the other for the FAX.  Make sure you are selecting the proper printer.  If you are on a Windows computer you would go to Control Panel, Devices and Printers, select the proper printer and select "Set as default".
