Laserjet P2105d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to print a Word document from a Lenovo laptop.  I'm using a LaserJet P2105d connected with a USB cable.

I have both a printer driver HP Universal Printing PCL 6 and HP LaserJet P2015 Series UPD PS. I have also downloaded the driver for HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit), 7.0.1.24923, though it is not showing in my printer list.

I am able to print a test page, but I can't print the document.  Either nothing happens or only a few pages print.

i have run the HP Print and Scan doctor. When I run the diagnostic software, I don't get an option for the P2105, so I choose the HP Universal Printing PCL 6. When I get to the test page step within the diagnostic software, I get the dialog box shown below, but nothing is listed under recently used printers .Also, nothing happens when I click on "print an internal test page."

When i try to print the Word document using HP Universal Print Driver PCL 6, I get a message "Job aborted: Failure in UIO CreateAddressFromIPAddress.

Making this even more confusing, I was able to print documents using the same printer a few days ago...and I don't know what is different.

Try replacing your USB cable or try to print using a wireless connection to eliminate the possibility of a faulty USB cable.

7.x UPD is broken, probably related to recent Windows Updates... use the 6.x series drivers to fix it.

Hope this helps.

Update: This seems to be related to the infamous "PrinterNightmare"-Patch that Microsoft released last year.

I managed to fix this by adding the following registry entry on the client PC:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print]
"RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled"=dword:00000000

EDIT: Unfortunately, this only works for the 7.0.0x UPD drivers, NOT 7.0.1x
