I have an HP Officejet Pro 8025e. I can turn it on and print an alignment page but any time I print from any Windows computer I get a blue screen of death with error number B808746C. I tried resetting to factory, I tried updating, and I tried removing the ink and re-installing. Nothing seems to make a difference and I can't find any info how to fix it.

Hi @Katy1500,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A blue screen error, also known as the "Blue Screen of Death" or BSOD, is typically associated with Microsoft Windows operating systems and is not a common error for printers like the HP Officejet Pro 8025e. However, if you are encountering a blue screen error on your computer while trying to use the printer, it may be related to a driver or software issue rather than a problem with the printer itself.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Restart your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software-related issues. Restart your computer and try printing again.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for compatibility issues.
  • Disconnect and Reconnect the Printer: Turn off your printer and disconnect it from your computer. Then, reconnect it and turn it back on. Ensure that it's properly connected to your computer.
  • Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, third-party software can interfere with printer operations. Try disabling any unnecessary background applications or antivirus software temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Run System File Checker: Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges and run the "sfc /scannow" command to check and repair system files that may be corrupted.
  • Check for Malware: Perform a full malware scan on your computer to rule out any malicious software causing issues.
  • Check Event Viewer: The Event Viewer in Windows can provide more information about the blue screen error. Look for any error messages or events related to the printer or driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The BSOD is not on the computer, it is on the printer. see photo below. None of your suggestions help with this.

Hi @Katy1500

Kindly refer to the steps below and let me know if that fixes the issue.

Please perform the below steps and let me know

1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.

2) Wait for 60 seconds.

3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4) Take out the cartridges.

5) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

6) Wait for 30 seconds.

7) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

😎 Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back > Insert the cartridges

9) Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.

and also uninstall the HP smart app and reinstall it

Update the firmware:

Request you to update printer firmware. Kindly refer to the steps on this link and let me know if that fixes the issue.

I tried all of these steps. Once the printer comes back online and I reinstall the cartridge's it seems fine, but as soon as a computer sends a file to printer the error occurs. I tried with many different printers with different drivers on my business network and get the same results.

The firmware is up to date. I would like to try to restore to a previous firmware version but i cannot find a download for an old one online.

Any ideas how to fix this or is it trash? less then 2 years is a disappointingly short amount of time for a printer to last.
