HP 5200

I was always able to print from my iPhone, recently I added another printer because of a job I’m doing and another network.  The network and printer aren’t in my home.  I was always able to print at home from my cell phone before I added this other stuff. Now, when I’m home and go to print from my cell phone whether I air print or HP smart print, it says printer busy. I can print fine no errors from my laptop.

Please advise.

Hi @Lisa870,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is showing a "busy" status, it may be due to several reasons, including.

  • Print jobs in the queue: Your printer may be processing a print job or several print jobs in the queue. Check your printer queue to see if there are any pending jobs. If there are, wait for them to finish printing.
  • Connectivity issues: If your printer is connected to your computer via a USB cable, make sure the cable is properly plugged in. If your printer is connected to a network, ensure that it is properly connected to the network and that the network connection is stable.
  • Paper jams: If there is a paper jam in your printer, it may be showing a "busy" status. Clear any paper jams and try printing again.
  • Low ink or toner: If your printer is low on ink or toner, it may show a "busy" status. Check your ink or toner levels and replace them if necessary.
  • Software issues: If your printer's software is not working properly, it may be showing a "busy" status. Try restarting your printer and computer, and reinstalling the printer software if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
