Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

CP2025, suddenly got a sensor error on the magenta cartridge, 10.1002 replaced the Cartridge, cleaned the contacts on the drawer, swapped the cyan cartridge and the error continued... did a default reset (don't know how to do a complete cold reset unless that is the default reset through the panel).

Issue: Supply Memory Error 10.1002 Magenta

Symptoms leading up to the issue: I had changed the cartridge out and the new one was working fine, suddenly got the Supply Memory Error...

In troubleshooting: I removed the new cartridge and put the old one back in and after replacing it several times without effect, it suddenly cleared the error, so I put the new one back in and the error came back. I then put the old one back in and the error remained. This tells me of a possible connection issue (?)... tried to pull the drawer out but couldn't figure it out...

I did swap the magenta cartridge with a yellow one and recycled the power, the error indicated was "Magenta in wrong position" except I removed the magenta from the system... I removed all cartridges except the yellow one in the magenta slot and they all came up with the "?" error...

Ok, so I took all cartridges out and put the yellow one in... it registered but now indicated it to be empty, I added a magenta cartridge and it did register but the icon was flashing but no "?" or memory sensor error...

Installed the Cyan and that registered while the panel icon for the magenta is still flashing full...

I don't know what the meaning of a flashing icon is on the panel for the magenta...

so now I am stuck.

I am retired and cannot afford repair or buying a new one.

IN searching the database and questions, I have seen this same problem for many other people but without any actual solution being posted... other than put in a new HP cartridge.

(I used to work in the R&D section of HP at the Boise campus something like 15 years ago... )

Welcome to the HP support community.

Check the e-label. If it is broken or damaged, replace the cartridge.

Verify that the cartridge is installed in the correct location.

Remove and reinstall the cartridge and then power-cycle the product.

If the error is with a color cartridge, try swapping it with a different color cartridge in the tray. If the same message appears, then there is an engine problem.
