Hello I am receiving and error message saying that the cartridge carrier is jammed. There is no paper and the carrier path is clear. We are unable to manually move it. We tried a soft reset of the printer and it still does not move. HP Office Jet Pro 8020 series

Hi @KJS5268
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer. A jammed cartridge carrier can be quite frustrating, especially if you've already cleared the path and attempted a soft reset. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the internal mechanisms.
2. Check for Obstructions:
- Open the printer's access door to the cartridges and look closely for any small pieces of paper, tape, or foreign objects that may be blocking the carrier. Sometimes even tiny bits can cause a jam.
3. Inspect the Cartridge Carrier:
- With the printer powered off, gently try to move the cartridge carrier left and right. If it doesn't move, there might be something stuck that you can't see. Be careful not to apply too much force.
4. Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
- Remove the ink cartridges from their slots and check for any obstruction or damage. After checking, reinsert them carefully to ensure they're seated correctly.
