Hi,
I changed my printer cartridge last week and used my printer several times with no issue, suddenly the black stopped working, after lifting the lid to get the catridge i can see the offical hp catridge has exploded!
This has obviously ruined the printer head and more than likley the whole printer which is out of warrenty.
Can anybody give advice please?

That is no explosion at all. The part with a lot of ink is called the service station and it is used to maintain printhead. Waste ink during printhead cleaning is collected in a service station that's why you see a lot of old ink. That is totally normal for an inkjet printer to collect old ink on the right side of the printer.

thank you for your reply, strange that when this thread reported the same problem he was refered to an "appropriate team within HP".

The appropriate team within HP probably gave the same explanation. Hope you will hear from HP.
And a joke for the end:
Writing on forums words like expl...on will attract even appropriate team from CIA 🙂

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
