Printer/Computer issue - flashing power button

For some reason my computer and printer won't work together to print.  My wifi is down and I have the printer plugged into my Mac via USB.

The Printer's power button flashes.

I have done a lot of work online to fix this: Turning off/on, taking the ink cartridges out and back in, opening and closing the doors, installing a new driver.  None of this seems to have worked.

Ideas?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the blinking power light. 

Please try these steps - 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, try The Power light blinks fast
