HP ENVY 4502 e-All-in-One Printer

My printer will sometimes print the first sheet correctly, but after that, all the pages are cut off at the top.   At other times, it will cut the print off the top of the page of every print job.  I HAVE TRIED (1) Reseating the printer  by pulling the power plug out of the printer, pulling the power plug out of the wall, and waiting 60 seconds.  Lastly, I plug the power cord back into the wall and then back into the  printer.    I HAVE ALSO TRIED (2)  Removing the print cartridges and reseating the printer  by pulling the power plug out of the printer, pulling the power plug out of the wall, and waiting 60 seconds.  I then plug the power cord back into the wall and then back into the  printer.   Lastly, I reinstall the printer cartridges.  NOTHING IS WORKING!  Can anyone help??

Hi @Airedale_Mom,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps, but the issue with your HP ENVY 4502 printer persists. To further address this problem, you can try the following steps.

  • Check Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray and that it is aligned properly. Improper paper alignment can cause printing issues.
  • Paper Size and Type Settings: Make sure that the paper size and type settings in the printer driver and on the printer's control panel match the paper you're using. This can be a common cause of printing problems.
  • Clean Print Head: It's possible that a dirty or clogged print head could cause printing issues. You can usually find instructions for cleaning the print head in your printer's manual or on the HP website.
  • Update Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can lead to printing problems. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP website.
  • Software or Firmware Update: Check if there are any software or firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to address known issues.
  • Print a Test Page: Use the printer's control panel to print a test page. This can help you determine if the problem is with the printer itself or the computer.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Even if you don't see a paper jam, it's possible that there is a small piece of paper stuck in the printer. Open the printer and check carefully for any obstructions.
  • Reset the Printer: In addition to unplugging the power cord, you can try a full reset of the printer. To do this, consult your printer's manual for specific instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
