I have tried everything. Restarting, resetting, firmware updates. I tore down the printer and used Deoxit on the scanner connections. I opened up the scan bed and tried to figure out what could be happening. I contacted HP support and they were not helpful. They just said, oh sorry, you are out of warranty. I have scoured the internet for parts diagrams to try and find a replacement part. 

Nothing. 

It’s not even that big of a deal that the scanner doesn’t work, but the error will not clear and it makes the screen unusable. 

What am I missing? Does HP really offer zero support for their products? 

 

Someone help! Or do I just throw away a $400 printer and buy a new one, seriously?
