HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One - N911n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer is an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium. I removed the empty HP 951XL magenta cartridge and inserted a new HP magenta cartridge.  When the screen said, "print report," I skipped that step by pressing the return arrow on the screen so that I could print a jpg image.  As soon as I hit the return arrow, the screen displayed a Printer Failure message that said, "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP."  I have been working on a fix for 5 hours.  I have tried every suggestion that I could find in my internet search. The HP chat was a total waste of time. My only thought is that the printer cartridge may be defective but they are expensive to purchase.  I note that another user attempted that fix but, even with a replacement cartridge, that person's printer still displayed the same error message.  I love this printer even though the automatic feeder stopped working years ago. The closest HP replacement printer is the HP Office Jet 9730e which does not support analog fax.
