HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

I've just received a replacement printer from HP under warranty, firstly the printer lid was jammed and I was unable to get my hand in to load the ink cartridges, after a lot of struggles I finally got it opened, and found that both hinges were not attached to the lid, i then tried to set up the printer and failed as it keeps flashing Error code E4

I have an Envy 6032e any ideas, as it's the weekend HP support is non existent

@charlieB1232, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

An E4 error on the HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer indicates a paper jam. Here's a detailed guide on how to resolve this error.

Automatically Clear the Jam

  1. Press the Cancel button Cancel Button on the printer control panel to automatically clear the jam.

Manual Clearing of Jammed Paper

Paper jams can occur in multiple areas of the printer. Follow these steps in the given order:

1. Clear Jammed Paper from the Ink Cartridge Access Area:

  • Lift the ink cartridge access door until the lid locks into place.

Lifting the Ink Cartridge Access Door

  • Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.
  • Move the carriage to the far left and far right, and then remove any jammed paper or debris with both hands.
  • Remove the paper path cover by pinching the tabs and lifting it out of the printer.

 Removing the Paper Path Cover

  • Lift the flip gate on the duplex rollers and remove any paper found underneath.

 Lifting the Flip Gate

  • Reinsert the paper path cover by pinching the tabs together and slide it into position.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door and make sure it fully closes.

2. Clear Jammed Paper from the Input Tray and Cleanout Area:

  • Pull out the input tray and remove any paper.
  • Look inside the input tray and remove any jammed paper or debris using both hands.
  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Holding the top of the printer, turn the printer on its side, slide the input tray up to access the cleanout area under the printer.
  • Tilt the printer down to view the cleanout area and remove any jammed paper or debris.

 Viewing the Cleanout Area

  • Check the paper pick rollers for any paper and remove if necessary.
  • Return the printer to its normal position and reload paper.

3. Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, reset the printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
