Hi @Larry30009,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges
Ensure you are using only genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges might cause print quality and functionality issues.
Clean the Printhead
Clean the printhead to ensure there are no blockages or ink buildup affecting the printer's functioning.
- Load plain white paper into the input tray.
- On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow to display additional options.
- Touch Setup, then touch Tools.
- Touch Clean Printhead.
Repeat the cleaning stages if necessary. Monitor the test pages to see improvements in print quality.
Check the Print Settings
Verify the print settings to ensure they are appropriate for your print job.
For Windows:
- In the software application, click File and then click Print.
- Open the Properties dialog box.
- Adjust settings like Paper Type, Print Quality, and Paper Size as needed.
- Click OK to apply settings, then click Print.
For Mac:
- Open a document, click File and then click Print.
- Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.
- Adjust settings as necessary.
- Save your settings for future print jobs.
Update the Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date:
- From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch the ePrint icon.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the ePrint server and touch Settings.
- Touch Printer Update, and then touch Check for Update Now.
I hope this helps.
