I have a 3830 with error code 0x0005fb86. I have tried resetting the printer, cleaned the cartridges and nothing fixed the issue

Hi @Amber_Rose305,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x0005fb86 on your HP Officejet 3830 printer typically indicates a hardware issue. Here are a few steps you can try.

  • Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check the Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed and that there are no protective tape remnants on the contacts. If possible, try replacing the cartridges with new ones to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions. Even small pieces of paper can cause errors.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check the HP website for any available updates for your model.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above works, consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This can often resolve persistent issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
