I am experiencing the same issue and cannot get any help since I am out of warranty

Unfortunately, no one was able to help.  It is not fixable.  This error in my case did not involve defective ink cartridges, or printheads, and resetting was not possible because as soon as I plugged it back in this message too the screen and i was unable to make it go away and get to any other functions.

So I had to throw the printer away, it is no way worth fixing.

My print cartridge assembly was almost pristine. Used contact cleaner anyway and reinstalled. Had previously followed ALL troubleshooting steps in these posts. Nothing worked. This printer failure message is a permanent issue, apparently.

I have exactly (and really exactly) the same issue as you described in your original question post. Out of nowhere this pristine looking machine stopped working displaying this error.
New printhead, new cartridges although everything looked perfect. Almost no inks spill anywhere and perfectly clean contact points everywhere.  (I can still sell this machine as being new if it printed).
I really have a brick in my stomach now because I am really sad to say I am moving away from HP. (After being one of your biggest advertiser for over 25 years)

I revived an older Brother All-In-One from storage which I solely used for CD/DVD label printing, so I can continue working over the holidays. Probably will stay with Brother printers from now one...

As a final cap on this issue, the printer indeed had to be thrown away.  It was junk.   Now I have Canon printers throughout our company in all our offices.  It was a big cost, but we trashed ALL the HP Printers.   We are much happier.

Thanks for putting in all the effort to make it work with HP. Unfortunate that it didn’t work. But your time and energy was not wasted for the rest of us who ran into the same issue.
Thanks again!

Hi,

I seem to be having the same problem as @Stevet157, and followed all the same steps. This is very frustrating and it seems impossible to fix. How can I contact support verbally to try fixing the problem? In Stevet157’s first message, my steps 3 and 4 are different. My ink cartridges spilled and there is a huge leak of ink on the right side of my printer. I however have the 6700 series. Is there anything I can do? Or do I have to buy a new printer?

Thanks,

Cynthia

Hi @Cynthiia

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Appreciate you trying the steps. As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!

Cynthia,

I don't know if I ever posted the final answer to my problem.  It was not fixable.  I threw the printer away.  It wasn't very old, but it failed.  It just failed.   So, I bought a Canon printer to replace it.  And it works great.
