Printer Error Failure message upon startup.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 
I'm sorry to hear you're seeing a "Printer Failure" or "Printer Error" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. This issue can occur due to a firmware glitch, hardware fault, or internal ink system failure. Let’s try the following steps to resolve it:

Power Reset the Printer

  1. Turn the printer ON, if it’s not already.
  2. With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet directly (avoid surge protectors).
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.

This clears residual electrical charge and may reset internal hardware.

Check for Obstructions or Ink System Issues

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. Remove all cartridges and inspect for any ink leakage or damage.
  3. Check for any paper debris or obstructions inside the printer.
  4. Reinstall the cartridges one by one, ensuring they click into place.
  5. Close the access door and see if the error clears.

Update Firmware (if accessible)

If the printer starts without the error:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel > Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
  • Or update via HP Smart or HP Easy Start on your PC.
