What to do if Printer Failure message appears and have exhausted all the recommendations from the HP Support tech as far as unplug, remove and reinstall cartridges, plug back in, turn on and off, etc.   Is there a way to speak to someone?  Could there be a part that needs to be replaced?  Thank you!

Hi @JJ8426,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested (unplugging, reinstalling cartridges, turning the printer on and off, etc.) and are still seeing the "Printer Failure" message, there may be an underlying hardware issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600.

Here are a few things you can try or consider.

Reset to Factory Defaults:

  • Sometimes, restoring the printer to its factory settings can resolve persistent issues. You can do this by going into the printer's settings menu under Restore Defaults or Reset Network Settings.

Check for Error Codes:

  • Look for any error codes or messages that might give more insight into what is wrong. If the printer is showing specific error codes, these can help narrow down the issue.

Internal Hardware Issues:

  • If the printer still shows the "Printer Failure" message after troubleshooting, it could be due to a faulty internal component, such as a printhead, motherboard, or power supply.
  • Printhead Issues: The printhead might be damaged or clogged. Although you've tried reinstalling the cartridges, the printhead itself may need to be replaced.
  • Other Hardware Problems: Components like the mainboard or power supply could also fail, triggering the failure message.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
