My HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 is having issues with the printhead.  I did research and have cleaned the printhead as well as ordered new cartridges.

I read some comments that a firmware update may need to be installed.  I downloaded the 'only' Firmware update under the printer page on hp.com, OJP8600_N911g-n_2011A. However, I could not get the update via ethernet (standard)  as it couldn't find the printer.

So I changed the printer to wireless, connected to it and attempted the firmware update. It finds the printer BUT I cannot select the printer and run the update.

I purchased a replacement printhead with HP cartridges but I still had the same issue with the printer not recognizing the printhead.
I also tried to reset the prionter but the instructions to turn off/turn on, hit the back arrow 4 times could not be done as the first display kept showing the same printhead error with NO back arrow at the lower left which is where it appears.

I've had this printer 8 years so it's more than paid for it's price but I 'truly' don't want to get rid of it and purchase another one.
