I just bought a new Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M283cdw printer. After a single print, the printer immediately goes offline and I have to shut it down and bring it back online to print again. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions, and nothing is working. There was an update to Windows 11 in February which might be when all of this started. Any suggestions?

Hi @SPS037,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are experiencing printer connectivity issues, especially after a recent system update, can be frustrating.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix connectivity issues. Try restarting both your printer and your computer.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or network connection (if it's a network printer). If it's a wireless printer, make sure it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and signal strength is strong.
- Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, updates to the operating system can affect driver compatibility. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Printer Settings: Check the printer settings to ensure that it's not set to automatically go offline after a print job. Look for any power-saving settings that might be causing the printer to disconnect.
- Windows Updates: Check for any pending Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches to fix compatibility issues with certain devices.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Your firewall or antivirus software might be blocking the printer's communication. Temporarily disable them and see if the issue persists. If disabling them resolves the problem, you may need to adjust the settings to allow the printer's communication.
- Network Configuration: If your printer is connected via a network, ensure that the network settings are configured correctly. You may need to assign a static IP address to the printer to prevent it from losing connection.
- USB Port: If you're using a USB connection, try connecting the printer to a different USB port on your computer. Sometimes, faulty USB ports can cause connectivity issues.
