Hi @trtstout711,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A "Printer Head Error" on an HP Office InkJet Pro printer can be caused by a variety of issues, and it's not always related to the type of ink you're using. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check for Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges have enough ink left. Sometimes, an empty or low cartridge can trigger this error. Replace any empty or low ink cartridges with genuine HP ink cartridges if needed.

Clean the Print Heads: Print heads can get clogged with dried ink or debris. Many HP printers have a built-in cleaning utility that you can access through the printer's control panel. Run a print head cleaning cycle to clear any obstructions.

Manually Clean the Print Head: If the built-in cleaning doesn't work, you can manually clean the print head. Here's how:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.
  • Gently wipe the print head to remove any dried ink or debris.
  • Allow it to dry completely.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, HP releases firmware updates that address various issues, including print head errors.

Inspect for Physical Damage: Examine the printer for any physical damage to the print head or any other components.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges: Although you mentioned using HP ink, ensure that you're using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges might not work properly and can cause errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
