I just purchased a new LaserJet printer. It is the HP LaserJet M234sdw. May 2025. I got it set up and it was printing. However, today, it is not. My computer indicates the printer is 'offline'. I went into HP Smart (not my favorite) and it can print from that app. However, I use that app from my phone, but all my files are on my computer, and I need connectivity from my HP Envyx360 Laptop to the LaserJet printer. I swear, I am so frustrated with HP printers. It used to be so easy, now you have to have an HP Smart app in order to scan. I only purchased the HP because my mom used to work there and retired from there. All I need to do is so simple, print from computer to printer (not phone, not iPad). That's it. It did work initially but stopped. I purchased this printer 4 days ago. So, it is brand new. Any suggestions? I restarted my laptop. I shut off the printer and turned it back on. I was able to print using HP Smart, but again, that was a document from my smartphone which was nothing more than a test to see if the printer would print. Help.

Common issue I run into is that when the printer is setup, the print driver gets configured to use a WSD port for communication. This protocol is notorious for loosing connection. It is better to configure the driver to use a Standard TCP/IP port. The fact that you can print from phone indicates that the printer is on the network but communication between printer and computer is intermittent.
