I have an HP Envy Pro 6458 all in one. I had it plugged in to an extension cord. My grandchild needed the cord and ever since i have plugged the printer back in, all the lights are blinking and nothing will print.

Hi @JanaShops,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the lights on your HP Envy Pro 6458 printer are flashing and it's not printing, it could indicate an error or issue that needs attention. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's cover and check for any paper jams. If you find any, carefully remove the jammed paper, making sure not to tear it.
- Inspect Ink or Toner Cartridges: Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are properly installed and not empty. If any cartridge is empty or low on ink/toner, replace it with a new one.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer on and check if the lights continue to flash.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Visit HP's official website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If updates are available, follow the instructions to update the firmware.
- Check for Error Messages: If there is an error message displayed on the printer's screen or on your computer, take note of the message. It can help identify the specific issue.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, performing a hard reset can resolve minor glitches. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and any other cables connected to it. Wait for a minute or two, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Check for Connectivity Issues: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or the network. If it's a wireless printer, check the Wi-Fi connection and make sure it's connected to the correct network.
- Run Print Queue Troubleshooter (Windows): If you're using a Windows computer, you can run the built-in "Print Queue Troubleshooter" to identify and fix common printing issues.
- Reset Printing System (Mac): If you're using a Mac, you can try resetting the printing system, which can sometimes resolve communication errors between the printer and the computer. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," right-click (Ctrl+click) on the printer in the list, and select "Reset printing system."
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
