I have had this printer for over a year and have not experienced any major problems with it.  IMG_1747A.gif

I just successfully changed the black printer cartridge and I got a confirming message on the printer screen. The problem is that the message will not go away. The message contains an "OK" acknowledgement button on the screen, but pressing this has no effect.  By the way, I can still use the printer - the message just won't go away.  I've tried turning the printer off and back on again, and I've tried unplugging it for a few minutes - that doesn't work either.  I have not tried a complete reset yet, as I don't want to have to go through reconfiguring the printer from scratch. Any ideas?

I experienced a similar prompt from my HP9015 regarding not being able to clear a message regarding replacing an ink cartridge.  Once I opened the paper drawer and received the prompt to close it then the printer launched another message to select OK regarding the size of paper to select.  Once I accepted that prompt then the message that referenced the changing of the cartridge disappeared."

Since I have changed my ink cartridges several times and this is the first and only time this has happened, I still suspect a faulty software update as the real problem.  My printer info shows that the last firmware update occurred on 8/23/2021.

Anyway, problem solved (for now). I'm a happy camper!

This happened when I replaced my ink on 12/7/2021 too. My printer is an Office Jet Pro 9025.  This is the first time I have change the ink in the machine.

Since I haven't changed any settings on my printer, and I assume that you haven't changed anything on yours either,, I suspect that the problem might be with a software "upgrade" that HP periodically downloads to the machine. I am a subscriber to HP's Instant Ink program, where they remotely monitor your printer and automatically send you ink cartridges when you ink supply gets low. They also have the capability to download software updates to your machine from time to time. Since your problem and mine appeared to occur at about the same time, I think that could be a possibility.  I know that our machines are different models, I'm just assuming that they may have a common schedule for issuing updates, and that some "updated" features could be shared among different machines.  This logic could be a stretch, but until someone comes up with a better suggestion this is my top suspect.

I have the app on my phone. But I am not able to locate this on the app.

This helped clear up the message on my printer.

I have an HP9018 which had the same problem.  I tried several things, pulling the power cord for > one minute, rebooting my computer, etc.  Nothing worked.  Then, as if by magic, the problem went away.

I agree with another commenter - this appears to be a problem caused by an HP software update.  Don't they test their updates before they send them out?
