When I print a PDF doc, it will send. It will start printing, and then spit out the first duplex page after printing at normal speed. It will pause for about 40-55 seconds before finally starting the next page. The print speed is normally slow, but manageable. Now, I'm getting 40 pages printed in an hour instead of normal speeds.
Since trying to resolve this, the printer has also been seemingly stopping the job mid queue and just refusing to print as well. I was printing large PDFs with heavy pictures embedded. I thought--maybe this is part of the problem. I cut down to 16 page sections to cut down on the data the machine has to handle per job in the print queue. That seems to be working. But--I still have the 40-55 second delay on the printing.
I haven't manually updated firmware, and its been working fine for the 6-7 months I've owned it--printing several thousand pages.
