I've been having issues with printing. I had a problem about 2 weeks ago and thought I fixed it. But now it's doing it again. I will send the print job to the printer, and it will make a noise as if it's getting ready to print then stops.

Hi @Sleeper4
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this—it can be frustrating when the printer acts like it’s going to print but doesn’t complete the job.
Let’s go step by step to narrow this down:
1. Check Printer Status
Make sure the printer shows as Ready on its display (if it has one).
Ensure there are no error lights or messages (such as paper jam, low ink, or connection issues).
2. Run a Power Reset
Turn the printer on.
With the printer still on, unplug the power cord from the back.
Unplug from the wall and wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug it back directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector) and power it on.
3. Verify Connection
If using Wi-Fi, confirm the printer is still connected to your network.
Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel (often under Settings → Reports).
If using USB, try a different port and cable.
4. Clear Print Queue
On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
Right-click your printer → See what’s printing.
Cancel all jobs and try sending a fresh one.
5. Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool (Windows)
In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.
6. Update Drivers/Firmware
Visit HP Software and Driver Downloads.
Enter your printer model and install the latest driver and firmware.
7. Try a Test Page Directly from the Printer
From the printer’s control panel, look for Setup → Reports → Print Test Page (location varies by model).
If it prints, the issue is with the connection/software. If it doesn’t, it points to the printer hardware itself.
If you share your printer model, I can provide the exact steps and links for your device. Would you like me to look that up for you?
