Hi @NinoRand

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s strange that your HP Smart Tank 5100 prints internal information pages but refuses to print regular documents due to a "no paper" error.

This suggests a possible software or sensor issue rather than an actual paper feed problem.

Possible Causes & Solutions

Check Paper Settings

  • Ensure the paper size and type in your print settings match the actual paper loaded.
  • Try selecting Plain Paper instead of any specialty paper.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and try printing again.

Clean the Paper Sensors

  • Dust buildup can cause false "no paper" errors.
  • Open the printer and gently clean the paper feed rollers with a lint-free cloth.

Check HP’s Official Troubleshooting Guide

  • HP has a dedicated page for "Out of Paper" errors on Smart Tank printers here.

If the issue persists, it may be a firmware bug or a sensor malfunction. Let me know if any of these steps help!
