After receiving my new printer:

HP ENVY 6000 All-in-One Printer series

I followed the steps to correctly set up the product.

I now have successfully done so and have the app on my phone and laptop allows me to print from either device.

However, the lights on the printer don’t go off and the printer is located in a bedroom.
Even with the light preferences on the lowest setting it’s still too bright.

“Sleep mode” won’t engage automatically and there’s no off button on my controls.

What can I do to send the printer into sleep mode? Thanks

Open and read the

User Guide

For example,

Look on the back of the printer for the off / on switch.

The "lights" are meant to stay on / change as described on Pages 8-12

Auto-Off and Sleep Mode - what they are and how they work - are explained on Pages 14-15

If all else fails,

Move the printer to a different location,

Cover the light - a light cloth, simple barrier,

Place the printer on a turn-table - when not in use, turn the lighted part of the printer away from your sight...
