Hi @ordershelp
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When a printer gets stuck in "Validating Mode," it usually means it's having trouble recognizing the new ink cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check the Cartridge Installation:
- Make sure the new cartridge is installed correctly. Remove it and reinstall it, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
Inspect the Cartridge:
- Look for any protective tape or plastic that might still be on the cartridge. Sometimes, manufacturers leave a piece of tape on the contacts that can prevent proper communication.
Clean the Contacts:
- Gently wipe the metal contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth. This can help ensure a good connection.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, and wait for about 5 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the printer HP website to see if there are any firmware updates available that might resolve the issue.
Try a Different Cartridge:
- If possible, try using another new cartridge to see if the issue persists. The cartridge you installed might be defective.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
