Hi @ksinha1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

A blinking blue Wi-Fi light on your HP printer means it’s trying to connect to a wireless network but hasn’t succeeded. Since you’ve already restarted everything, let’s go deeper with a structured fix:

Step-by-Step Fix for HP Printer Wi-Fi Blinking

1. Reset Wireless Settings on the Printer

  • On the printer control panel, go to:
Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults
  • This clears any corrupted or outdated Wi-Fi profiles.

2. Reconnect Using Wireless Setup Wizard

  • Go to:
Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
  • Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password carefully.
  • Wait for the blue light to turn solid—this confirms connection.

If your printer doesn’t have a touchscreen, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds to reset, then use HP Smart to reconnect.

3. Use HP Smart App to Reconnect

  • Download HP Smart on your Windows 11 device or phone.
  • Open the app and click Add Printer
  • Follow the prompts to connect via Wi-Fi (not Wi-Fi Direct)

4. Check Router Settings

  • Make sure your router is:
    • Broadcasting on 2.4 GHz (HP printers often don’t support 5 GHz)
    • Not using MAC address filtering or hidden SSID
  • Place the printer within 3–5 meters of the router during setup

5.  Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool (Windows)

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

If the blue light keeps blinking after all this, let me know your printer model—I can guide you through a manual IP setup.

You're clearly persistent and methodical, and that’s exactly what this kind of issue needs.
