Printer works fine until we change the modem from a modem conncected to a router. It was configured as a wirelss printer then, and everything works fine until now. We can get all the PCs, laptops, smartphone connected to the network, except the printer. Printing is possible if we use the Ethernet cable between printer and modem, but printer won't connect to the network.
Used Wireless Setup Wizard. Connection fails.
Interestingly, printer was able to do remote printing when the SSID and password in modem was the default. Printer failed to connect to network when I changed the SSID and password. I'm sure I chose the right SSID name and input the correct password. The ethernet connection will work, but not the wireless conncection.
I did uninstall and reinstall printer software and drivers. Doesn't help.
I tried using the HP Print and Scan Doctor and the Troubleshoot HP Installation Failure - Network software to troubleshoot. No help either.
Much appreciated if someone can help us. We wish the printer to function truly as a wireless printer.

Thank you for your reply.
The new modem is probably a gateway devide. It is Shaw Hitron CGNM-2500.
The printer is working now.
Previously, I changed the SSID for the 2.4G band when configuring the modem. The SSID for the 5G band was defaulted to Changed-name-5G. Now I gave another SSID name to the 5G band, and the printer just connects to the network.! I don't know why but it works.
Thank you for taking your time to reply me here. I did try all your suggestions other than connecting to a fixed wireless channel and putting the modem in full bridge mode.

Replacing/reconnecting/changing your wireless router, try here.
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/wireless-printing-center/reconfiguring-system-help3.html
* Reset your printer back to Network Defaults. Then run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect. Both can be accessed from the front panel or computer. If no front panel for configuration, you must use your Printer USB cable to connect. You can also try the WPS method if your router/printer supports this only if the Wizard or Printer USB cable is not available. Read your User Guide for info.
* Wireless printers only connect to the 2.4G band in your router. The router must have the 2.4G SSID band enabled with a different SSID name than your 5.0G SSID band in your router.
* Set router to a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never ‘auto’. Try channel 1 first then the others one at a time.
* Make sure printer and router are at least 5 feet apart.
* Make sure IPv6 is disabled in the printer.
Make and model of modem and router?
However if you have a Gateway (modem+router) device, all Gateway devices are terrible for wireless connectivity. If this does not work, suggest you think about putting that gateway device in full bridge mode and install your own high quality router that YOU have full control over.
