@alyp, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Unintentional Cancellation of Print Jobs!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your printer is canceling jobs on its own, there may be several factors causing this issue. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Step 1: Verify Printer Settings
- Pause and Ask: Ensure the printer is not set to "Pause and Ask" in the paper mismatch settings since this option may stop printing if paper conditions are not met. To check this, go to the job queue by tapping Settings > Job management > Mismatch actions > Paper mismatch.
- Job Queue Management: Check if any jobs in the queue are marked to be on hold. From the job queue app, tap Settings > Job management to see the current status of jobs.
Step 2: Clear the Printer Job Queue
- Manual Job Deletion: Select the job and then tap Delete in the menu. To delete all jobs, tap Delete all jobs in the menu. This will clear the entire job queue.
- Automatic Job Deletion: You can set the printer to automatically delete printed jobs when the total number of jobs exceeds a specified limit by defining settings in History and Clear History settings.
Step 3: Check for Paper and Roll Mismatches
- Paper Type Protection: Ensure special paper types are not protected (this is relevant for certain models like the Z6dr/Z9+dr).
- Mismatch Resolution: Depending on your environment, you can set the printer to "Print anyway," which bypasses the mismatch notification.
Step 4: Examine Roll Policies
- Roll Width Selection: Ensure the printer selects rolls correctly. This can be done by setting options such as "Print on same width only" or "Print on same width or wider."
- Job Autorotation: Enable Job autorotation to let the printer automatically rotate jobs to save paper, if applicable.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
