Operating System: macOS 10.12 Sierra

I have tried everything and it will not recognize that the paper tray is full.  I bought this printer yesterday and I'm fed up trying to make it work.

I understand that you are unable to print from your HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer as you get an error message "Paper Tray is Empty" when it is already loaded with paper.

 

This issue could occur if the paper sensors are not working or the paper settings may not be correct.

 

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.
