I used Instant Ink for a while and it worked, however I decided that I no longer wanted to use it.  I deactivated my account and bought new ink for the printer.  Now EACH time I try to print I get the message, "Connect Printer to update HP Instant Ink status".  NOTHING I do allows me to reconnect to Instant Ink, nor to stop from getting this message (I do NOT have an active Instant Ink account and do not have Instant Ink cartridges in the printer). I am unable to connect/disconnect b/c I get the message "Printer could not run the Web Access Test.."

- I am UNABLE to print without hitting the OK button in response to the ""Connect Printer to update HP Instant Ink status" message (every single time I want to print something).

- I am UNABLE to re-connect to Instant Ink to use the service again

- No reset / restore / update has worked to eliminate the problem.

The last time I spoke with a technician he tried to convince me that the printer only operated at 2.4 mhz and that b/c I have a dual band router - that was the issue (uh no.).  I wish I had never used this product.  Has anyone else had this problem?

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Resetting the printer network settings and then reconnecting the printer back to the network may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Unplug your modem/router and leave it powered off.

2.) Restart your printer, from the printer control panel, touch "Setup". Touch 'Network Setup", touch "Restore Defaults".

3.) Power off your printer

4.) Reconnect your modem/router and wait for it to re-establish its internet connection.

5.) Power on your printer.

6.) On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon , and then touch the Wireless Menu icon .

7) Touch Wireless Settings, then touch Wireless Setup Wizard. Select your network name from the list of available networks. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to your home WiFi.

Let me know how it goes!

We could try removing and re-enabling web services. Here is how to do it:

1.) From the printer control panel display, touch (HP ePrint), and then touch (Web Services Settings).

2.) Touch Remove Web Services.

3.) Power off and power on the printer.

4.) From the printer control panel display, touch Setup .

5.) Touch Web Services Setup.

6.) Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.

Keep me posted!

I am unable to get to Web Services either through HPEprint or in another way on my computer, b/c when I do it thinks I am connected to HP so asks me to accept the terms etc. and then gives me the error that Web Services Cannot be set up.

If I choose EPrint it asks me to set it up, and as part of this asks me if I 'want to accept the HP connected terms of service'.  If I say NO the message is."Web Services could not be set up", if I selece YES, it 'checks for updates' and then the message is, "The printer could not run the web access test. etc."

If I go directly through Web Access Services it gives me the same options to nowhere. I can't get INTO Web Services in order to remove it.

It sounds like a connection issue with web services. Let's try these steps:

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.

Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers. Once you assign a manual IP and Google DNS, try to remove and re-enable web services.

I went through all of these steps including updateing the firmware.  It still would not allow me to 'remove web services', but I restored the printer to factory settings.  Nothing has changed - it did not solve the problem.

I'm afraid, the only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've send you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
