My HP Officejet 6310 is cutting off every other line of text horizontally. The top half of the text appears while the bottom half of the text is cut off. I've re-aligned the printer along with making a copy. The copy presents the same issue with the text being cut off horizontally. Any adivce would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, @huntermaguire – Hope you are well 🙂

I understand that the printer is cutting off the lines while making a copy / print. Let’ start by performing a hard reset on the printer. Here are the steps:
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If the issue persists, try to run the clean print cartridges as suggested below:
-
Make sure that there is plain white paper in the input tray.
-
On the product control panel, press Setup.
-
Press the left arrow (
) or the right arrow (
) to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the left arrow (
) or the right arrow (
) to select Clean Print Cartridge, and then press OK. The product prints a test page.
-
repeat the process again to get the best results.

Good luck 🙂
