Its just a work around you can try it many times it has resolved the issue.. Add a printer and select deskjet 990c or deskjet 460c drivers as these are universal drivers and has helped many a times for paper size conflict issue.. Let us know if this has resolved the issue.

After trying all of the solutions offered and finding that none of them worked, we have decided to connect the printer back to the XP computer and find another option for the Windows 7 computer. Thank you al for your time and efforts to assist.

We installed the driver for deskjet 450c, and in the Properties it showed the correct paper size - letter. But when we sent a test page to print we got an error and it did not print. We have decided to put back the printer with the XP computer. Thanks again.

It is very easy to give up on a issue but to solve it, it takes some time. Check if u have selected the correct port. Restart your computer and printer once. and try again. If its not working than go ahead with your decision. I hope everything works fine without any problem and inconvinience.
