Hi @diogo461,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with sleep mode.
If your HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-in-One Printer is not entering sleep mode despite the troubleshooting steps you have already taken, here are some additional steps and tips that may help resolve the issue:
Check Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. Outdated firmware can cause issues with sleep mode.
- To update the firmware, go to the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware. Alternatively, use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to check for updates.
Disable HP Smart Features:
- Sometimes, certain HP Smart features can prevent the printer from going into sleep mode. Disable any web services (like HP ePrint or Instant Ink notifications) temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
- Access the printer's settings via the HP Smart app or printer’s control panel, and look for any options related to web services or cloud printing and turn them off.
Printer Network Settings:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Network instability can cause the printer to stay awake.
- If possible, try switching the printer to a different Wi-Fi network or using a wired Ethernet connection temporarily to see if this affects the sleep mode.
Printer Drivers and Software:
- Ensure that you have the correct and updated drivers installed on your computer. An incorrect or outdated driver can interfere with printer operations.
- You can update the drivers through the HP Support website or by using the HP Smart app.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @diogo461,
Please find the remaining steps below.
Disable SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol):
- If your printer is on a network, disabling SNMP might help, as SNMP can sometimes cause the printer to wake up or prevent it from sleeping.
- This can be done through the printer's embedded web server (EWS):
- Type the printer's IP address into a web browser to access the EWS.
- Go to the Networking or Advanced tab, find SNMP Configuration, and disable it.
Check for External Devices:
- Ensure no external devices (USB drives, cables, etc.) are connected to the printer that might be preventing it from sleeping.
- Disconnect any such devices and observe if the sleep mode activates.
Factory Reset the Printer:
- As a last resort, perform a factory reset on your printer to restore all settings to their defaults. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues but will erase any custom settings, so make sure you have your Wi-Fi details and other configurations handy to set up again.
- To perform a factory reset, access the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings, then Printer Maintenance, and select Restore or Reset.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware fault, in which case contacting HP Phone Support for further assistance or repair options would be recommended.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
