OK I have a solution thanks to perserverence and the UK helpline. At least it works for my Envy 120e All In One.

The door / front panel always returns to the position where the job was started. I do not remember starting a job with the panel in the up position, but apparently I did.

Solution: With printer powered on, gently push the door closed. Now print or copy. As the job started with the door closed it will return to that same positon when the job is complete.

Why oh why is anybody's guess. Good luck!

Wow, after a month of trying to figure this out, the door finally closed after gently closing the door and then copying a document.  Thanks for that fix.

Thank you very much.  This worked for me on the first try.

The problem is in the new Firmware Upgrade (what a joke). I believe this a ploy to get us folks who own 5 year or more old printers to upgrade to new ones... I do not like this, and will not be buying ANY future HP products... I do not like being forced to replace something that worked perfectly fine before the upgrade.

PISS OFF HP!!!
