Printer error 49.0675, 49.0121, 49.0702

Printer goes offline (about every couple of days), comes only online available after complete powercycle.

Error 49.0675, 49.0121 and 49.0702 appear in the logfile.

Can't find the error message.

49 errors are an indication that the printer has received a print command that it is not able to process. Most common causes are corrupted file,  bad or wrong driver sending print jobs or outdated firmware.

Steps to troubleshoot and resolve:

1. disconnected all network and usb connections and leave printer on to see if it comes to ready and stays that way when  no computers are connected.

2. make sure to clear print queues for any computer that prints to this printer. Then reconnect. If printer stays at ready, download the current firmware and install to the printer, then test.

3. If you still get the error then reinstall printer drivers.

4. If you are still getting errors, you will need to track down the unknown machine that is sending bad print jobs.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply. I will certainly try some of your suggestions. For example to remove the network connection.

HP does not provide "detailed" descriptions of all 49 errors as there are over 100K possible meanings. The best I can tell you is that any 49 error will 95% of the time be either a firmware, driver or  file issue and 5% will be hardware.
