I've been having issued with my printer pretty much since I plugged it in. It'll spontaneously decided to only print in black and white. But now it's giving me "critical error f0.01.01.02" every time I try to print from my connected laptop. It WILL print test sheets. But it will not print from my computer.

I've restarted it twice, I've unplugged and plugged it back in, AND I've reset it to factory settings twice.

Hi @alydugg,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "F0.01.01.02" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9130b indicates a serious internal issue that is likely affecting the communication between the printer and the computer. Since test sheets print fine, the issue seems to be specific to the connection or software with your laptop.

Here are a few steps to further troubleshoot.

  • Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: Sometimes outdated or corrupted drivers can cause communication issues. Uninstall the existing printer drivers from your laptop, restart, and then download and install the latest drivers from the official HP website.
  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a troubleshooting tool called Print and Scan Doctor. It can help diagnose and resolve many common printing problems. Download it from the HP website and run it to check for any issues with your printer's software or connection.
  • Check Printer Settings: On the printer's control panel, verify that the settings are correct (especially related to the print mode). Since it's printing test sheets but not from the computer, there could be a setting that restricts color printing, or the driver might be incorrectly set to black and white only.
  • Clear Print Queue: Sometimes a stuck print job can cause further errors. Clear any pending print jobs in the print queue, restart your computer, and then try printing again.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Outdated firmware can lead to errors like this. Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date by visiting the HP support page for firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
