HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One - N911n

There is an error message on the printer that says ‘There is a problem with your printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.’  We have tried turning it on and off several times and cannot resolve the error message. Looking for other ideas.
