HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

Moved the printer to a new house. Cannot get it to start up. Constantly shows a paper jam. Have followed the procedure to clear paper jams and also clean rollers. Cannot hook up to Wi-Fi or do anything because it constantly just stops and shows paper jam. It is now showing error B895CD16. Can anyone help?

Since you've already cleaned the rollers and followed paper jam clearing procedures, here are some additional steps to troubleshoot:

 

1. Reset the Printer

Perform a basic reset to clear internal memory and error messages:

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Wait for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the printer and power it on.
  4. Check if the error persists.

2. Inspect for Hidden Paper Debris

Sometimes small pieces of paper or debris can remain lodged in the printer and trigger false paper jam errors:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the rear access door and check for any tiny scraps of paper stuck in the rollers or anywhere along the paper path.
  3. Use a flashlight to inspect less visible areas.
  4. If you see any debris, carefully remove it with tweezers.

3. Clean the Sensors

The error could be caused by a dirty or misaligned paper sensor:

  1. Locate the paper sensors (near the rollers or along the paper feed path).
  2. Use a soft lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to clean the sensors.
  3. Allow them to dry completely before turning the printer back on.

4. Check the Rollers Again

Ensure the rollers are clean and free to move:

  1. Open the rear access door and inspect the rollers for wear or dirt.
  2. Use a damp, lint-free cloth to clean the rollers.
  3. Rotate the rollers manually to ensure they move freely.

5. Inspect the Carriage Path

  1. Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
  2. Check for any obstructions (paper debris, objects, or stuck carriage).
  3. Manually move the ink carriage to ensure it’s not jammed.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

If the printer starts up momentarily, update the firmware as it might resolve system-level bugs:

  1. Connect the printer to a computer via USB.
  2. Use the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant to check for firmware updates.
  3. Follow on-screen instructions to install updates.

7. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can sometimes clear persistent hardware-level errors:

  1. With the printer powered on, unplug it from the wall.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the printer back in and power it on.

8. If Error Persists

Thank you so much for your response.  I have already tried all the recommendations that you listed, but to no avail.  I inspected and determined there were no bits of paper or debris on the rollers or in the paper path.  I cleaned the rollers and sensors with a damp cloth with alcohol and let it dry.  I have done several hard resets, yet it still is showing the jam.  I even used compressed air to try and blow out any debris but that did not help. I am concerned that the movement of transporting the printer to a new home may have damaged it.  But I cannot figure a way to get the printer past the paper jam error in order to connect to wifi or do an update.  Also, the printer also states that I did not shut it down properly, which may have occurred when it was unplugged from the wall in order to move it from the old house.  Could that be causing the problem?
