Hello Jabzi,
I have had this same issue for years. After repeatedly invesitgating it in the past, my takeaway was there was no true identification of root cause and no definative resolution, so I just decided to live with the problem. Yet now time between my HP OP 8620 erroring out to white screen is best measured in minutes, no longer days or hours, so I decided to revisit the forum.
My HO setup is Apple Time Capsule router/wifi hardwired to both iMAC and Lenovo T430. IMAC to 8620 via USB and T430 to 8620 via wifi. 8620 also wifi enabled so family can print from iPhones, etc. I've done the printer unplug hard reset more times than I can count and it doesnt resolve the issue. I could go through listing all the sw versions and patching if it would be truly helpful, but the high level question is ... can the 8620 reliably work and not throw errors in a continuous wired and wireless configuration?
Prior posts in this and other threads recommend turning off the wifi and operating in a hard wired capacity only. That seems silly (or operating only in wifi) since the printer was bult with wifi capaiblity and that it doesn't fit my configuration/desired use case. Suspicion then moves to the Router, and while my Apple TC is a bit dated (AirPort Time Capsule 802.11n (4th Generation) running latest v7.6.9 sw), other Apple and Samsung devices don't have similar issues as the HP printer does. I believe I have the latest firmware on the 8620 (FDP1CN1825NR), but no guarentee I'm not wrong. So more specific high level question... can the 8620 reliably work with apple TC in dual wired/wifi mode or given your experience with thousands of posts and understanding of user setups will my attempts end up in only frustration?
Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Another recommendation in the forums is to replace the wireless Router. Before I do that (and that might be less painful than trying to get things to work when I've been unsuccessful in the past), I'd like confirmation the 8620 should reliably work in the setup I want. Otherwise I'll just continue to turn it on when needed.
Thanks
