If you encounter the error code B80C4DA0 on your HP Smart Tank 7600 printer, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer. If it does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the Power Cord: Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 Seconds: Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the Power Cord: Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn on the Printer: Press the power button to turn the printer back on.

Check the Printheads:

  • Lift the Ink Access Door: Lift the ink access door and wait until the carriage stops moving.
  • Check Printhead Cover: Ensure the printhead cover is closed. If not, press down to close it.
  • Open Printhead Cover: Press the blue button on the printhead carriage to open the printhead cover.
  • Remove Printheads: Press down on the printhead with the error and pull it out of its slot. Ensure ink does not leak by holding it upright.
  • Check and Remove Plugs: Ensure the plugs on top of the new printhead are removed.
  • Remove Tape from Printhead Contacts: Make sure the tape from the printhead contacts is removed. Avoid touching the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
  • Reinsert Printhead: Insert the printhead back into the slot until it snaps into place.
  • Close the Printhead Cover: Close the printhead cover and then the ink access door.
  • Align the Printheads: Follow the prompts on the touchscreen control panel to print an Alignment Page, then align the printheads according to the instructions on the page.

Print Diagnostic Reports:

  • Printer Status Report: Print a Printer Status Report to find the printer serial number, estimated ink levels, printer usage, connectivity, and scan settings. From the printer control panel home screen, touch Menu > Tools > Reports > Printer Status Report.
